BBQ TACO DOGS ft Jus Jase

Ingredients

1 pack Blue Ribbon Movie Dogs

4 – 6 tortilla wraps

2 tbsp oil

For the BBQ ONIONS:

3 oz butter or margarine

1 tbsp olive oil

2 large yellow onions or 4 large regular onions, thinly sliced

½ cup ketchup

1 tsp mustard

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp brown sugar

1 oz apple cider vinegar

1 tsp pepper sauce or ½ tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp ground geera

1 tsp paprika or smoked paprika

Salt and Black pepper

For the COLESLAW :

½ small green cabbage, finely shredded

½ red cabbage, finely shredded

1 small carrot, grated

2 – 3 tbsp mayonnaise

½ tsp mustard

1 tsp minced onion

Few dashes Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper

Grated cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Spilt the Blue Ribbon Movie Dogs lengthwise down the middle but not right through. Cook the butterflied dogs on both open-faced sides on a heated griddle or pan which has been coated with a little oil.
  2. While the Movie Dogs are cooking, melt the butter with the oil in in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Let cook low and slow until the onions are translucent and begin to get slightly browned.
  3. Mix together the remaining ingredients for the onions. Add to onions in the pan and mix well. Let cook for another 3 – 4 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  4. Mix together all the ingredients for the coleslaw. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  5. Assemble the taco. Place a little coleslaw on the tortilla. Top with a Blue Ribbon Movie Dog, followed by some of the bbq onions. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Fold together and serve.
