CHAR SIU HAM FRIED RICE ft Tricia Lee Kelshall


Ingredients
2 cups rice, boiled to yield about 4 – 5 cups cooked rice
1 cup chopped ham (perfect for leftover Christmas ham)
1 large onion, chopped
1 medium carrot, diced
1 large sweet pepper, diced
1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic
3 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce
1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Oyster Sauce
1½ tbsp green seasoning
1 tsp all purpose seasoning
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Sesame Oil
Few dashes pepper sauce
Pinch of salt and black pepper
Chopped chive for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Heat the vegetable and sesame oil together in a large pot.
- Add the onions and Lee Kum Kee Minced Garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the carrots and sweet peppers, green seasoning, pinch of salt and black pepper. Cook for another minute.
- Add the chopped ham and mix into the vegetables. Add the Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce, Oyster Sauce and a few dashes pepper sauce. Mix into the ham and vegetables and let cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice in parts, mixing well after each addition to ensure everything is evenly distributed. Let heat through, about 5 – 10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve.
