CHEESY HAM AND SCALLOPED POTATOES

Ingredients
6 – 8 large potatoes
7 – 9 slices cooked Great Foods Ham, cut into smaller pieces
1 large onion, thinly sliced
Cheese Sauce
3 oz butter or margarine
2 tbsp flour
1½ cups milk
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper
Extra grated cheddar cheese for top
Directions
- Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Place in a bowl of water until ready to use.
- Make the cheese sauce: In a pan, melt the butter or margarine over medium heat. Add the flour and stir for 1 minute. The mixture will be a flour paste. Add the milk and stir continuously until thickened.
Add the grated cheese and stir until melted and incorporated into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Drain the potatoes and pat dry.
- Spoon a little of the cheese sauce on the bottom of the dish. Spread one even layer of potato slices in the dish. Top with a layer of Great Foods Ham followed by some onion slices, then an even layer of cheese sauce.
Repeat the layers ending with a layer of potatoes. - Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 – 45 minutes. Remove dish from oven and remove the foil.
- Sprinkle with the extra grated cheese. Place back in the oven and continue baking until the top is golden brown. Remove and let sit for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
