2 cups flour

2 cups Regal Caster Sugar

1 tsp Regal Baking Powder

2 tsp Regal Baking Soda

1/4 tsp salt 

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 cup boiling water 

3/4 cup Regal Walnuts, chopped 

3/4 cup chocolate chips 


  1. Line pan with baking paper
  2. Boil water and place to cool on counter or in fridge while other ingredients are prepared
  3. Add sifted flour, Regal Caster Sugar, salt, Regal Baking Powder, Regal Baking Soda and cocoa powder all to a large bowl.
  4. Whisk together dry ingredients till well combined. Make well in the middle of the dry mixture ( push ingredients to the sides of bowl till bottom of bowl is visible)
  5. Add milk, eggs, vanilla and vegetable oil to the middle of the bowl
  6. Mix together dry and wet ingredients using a wooden spoon till well combined
  7. Add warm water and gently stir till combined. Batter consistency will be runny
  8. Add Regal Walnuts and chocolate chips and stir to combine (can coat them in flour first to prevent sinking)
  9. Bake in 8" pan, 350 F for 30 minutes or until the testing stick is clean. Nb. Can add more or less walnuts and chocolate chips if so desired
