Joel bakes up this fragrant ham for the Queen of Bachanaal, Destra!
1 Blue Ribbon Ham
½ cup orange juice
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup mustard
Few pinches black pepper
Pinch of salt
½ tsp smoked paprika (you can also use regular paprika)
½ tsp cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place the Blue Ribbon Ham in a large roasting pan. Make criss cross patterns on the top surface skin with a sharp knife. Insert the cloves evenly all over the surface of the ham.
Make the glaze. Combine the orange juice, mustard, brown sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper in a small bowl. Whisk the ingredients together.
Place the ham in the preheated oven and bake for an hour.
Remove from the oven, Brush with the glaze. Return to the oven and bake for another 1½ to 2 hours depending on the size of the ham (approximately 25 – 30 mins per pound). Brush the ham with the glaze every half hour.
Remove and let rest for at least half hour before slicing and serving. You can brush with extra glaze when the finished ham is removed.
