JERK PESTO BURGERS

Ingredients
1 lb minced meat
1½ tbsp Grace Mild Jerk Seasoning
4 heaping tbsp basil pesto
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp pepper sauce (optional)
Cheese slices
2 – 3 tbsp olive oil
Hamburger buns, cut in half
Lettuce
Tomato slices
Directions
- Place meat in a large bowl.
- Add the remaining ingredients except the cheese and oil. Mix just until all the ingredients are incorporated.
- Form into 4 large patties or 8 small ones. Make an indentation in the center of each patty. Place on a large platter and let marinate in refrigerator for at least half hour. Remove when ready to cook.
- Prepare and heat the grill.
- Place the burger patties on the hot grill leave for 2 minutes. Flip the burgers onto the other side and continue to grill for 4 – 5 minutes depending on desired doneness. Within the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover allowing the cheese to melt.
- Place the burger buns, cut side down on the grill to toast. Remove the bread and build your burger with desired toppings.
