SPICY SEARED STEAKS

Ingredients
2 (4 – 6 oz) Linz Filet Mignon Steaks
Spice Rub:
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp ground chipotle powder
Salt and pepper
2 tsp vegetable oil
2 oz butter
2 tbsp oil
Directions
- Pat the Linz filet mignon steaks dry.
- Mix together the ingredients for the spice rub. Sprinkle some of the rub evenly over both surfaces of the steaks. Also sprinkle on the sides.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Heat oil in an ovenproof frying pan over high heat.
- Add the steaks to the hot pan. Leave alone for 1 – 2 minutes. Turn steaks onto the other side.
- Add the butter to the oil and spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and leave for 5 – 7 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks, for medium well.
- Remove and place on a platter. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
