2 (4 – 6 oz) Linz Filet Mignon Steaks

Spice Rub:

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp ground chipotle powder

Salt and pepper

2 tsp vegetable oil

2 oz butter

2 tbsp oil


  1. Pat the Linz filet mignon steaks dry.
  2. Mix together the ingredients for the spice rub. Sprinkle some of the rub evenly over both surfaces of the steaks. Also sprinkle on the sides.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Heat oil in an ovenproof frying pan over high heat.
  4. Add the steaks to the hot pan. Leave alone for 1 – 2 minutes. Turn steaks onto the other side.
  5. Add the butter to the oil and spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
  6. Place the pan in the preheated oven and leave for 5 – 7 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks, for medium well.
  7. Remove and place on a platter. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
