SPICED BAILEY’S MARTINI ft Vaughnette Bigford

It's a toast to mom, as Joel makes this stimulating Bailey's cocktail for jazz queen Vaughnette Bigford.



2 oz Baileys

1 oz vodka

For the ginger spiced syrup;

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 1½-inch knob fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

2 cinnamon sticks

4 – 5 cloves

Garnish – Cinnamon stick, ground cinnamon


  1. Make the syrup. Place the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil stirring intermittently. When the sugar is dissolved, reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10 – 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. To assemble the cocktail :
    Add 2 – 3 cubes ice in a short glass. Add 1 oz of the infused syrup. Add the vodka and top with the Baileys.
    Sprinkle with a little ground cinnamon and add the cinnamon stick. Serve and enjoy.
