1 MacFoods bone in ham leg

1 – 2 jars of basil pesto, depending on the size of ham

3 – 4 cloves garlic, cut into a few slivers


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Defrost and prepare the ham for baking according to directions. Using a sharp knife, make a crisscross pattern on the surface of the ham.
  3. Turn the ham over and using a sharp knife make small piercings into the ham inserting the garlic slivers into the slits.
  4. Place the ham in a roasting pan lined with foil or a heavy duty foil pan placed on a large baking sheet, sprayed lightly with cooking spray. Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the ham from the oven. Using a pastry brush, baste the ham generously with the pesto and return to the oven, uncovered. Continue to baste at intervals of 15 - 20 minutes for approximately the next hour. The time will vary depending on the size of the ham.
  6. Remove and let rest for at least half hour before slicing. Place the remaining ham in a separate dish, cover and store in the refrigerator.
